The Camden County Fire Police is currently accepting applications for Active and Associate Membership. Please review the requirements for each class of membership carefully prior to selecting an application form.

Applicants for All Membership Classes shall meet all of the following eligibility requirements:

  • Applicant must be a legal citizen of the United States of America.
  • Applicant must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Applicant must posess a valid New Jersey Drivers License.
  • Applicant must submit to and pass a criminal background investigation.
  • Applicant must submit a completed application package, including supporting ducumentation appropriate to the Membership Class, for investigation by the Membership Committee

Applicants for ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP shall meet the following additional eligibility requirements:

  • Applicants must be a member in good standing with a fire department within the State of New Jersey and appointed to fire police duties by that department.
  • Applicant must reside withing the County of Camden or live withing five (5) miles of a Camden County border (a physical street address must be submitted; P.O. Box addresses are NOT acceptable).
  • Applicant must be physically capable of performing the duties of a fire police officer.

Applicants for ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP shall meet the following additional eligibility requirements:

  • Applicant must be an active or life member of a fire department, police department, emergency services unit or other emergency service related organization within the State of New Jersey.
  • Applicant must reside within the County of Camden or live within ten (10) miles of a Camden County border.

All applicants are advised that the online application is a preliminary screening tool. Upon successfully passing the preliminary screening process, they will be asked to complete a hard copy application and supply documentation as noted in the application. Because Fire Police officers are sworn law enforcement agents, membership in the CCFPA is a position of 'Public Trust' and therefore applicants are thoroughly evaluated and investigated for suitability. Filling out either the online application or the hard copy application is NOT a guarantee of acceptance.
